The pie charts show the exports between the United States and Vietnam in millions of dollars.
Overall, Vietnam mainly exported farm products to the US, especially coffee, while the US mostly exported industrial goods to Vietnam, with aircraft parts being the largest category. The types of goods exported by each country were quite different.
Looking at Vietnam’s exports to the US, coffee was the biggest item at $23 million. Fruit and vegetables were second at $16 million. Seafood and rice had similar amounts, at $4.4 million and $4.3 million. Garments and other products were the smallest categories, each at $2 million.
In contrast, US exports to Vietnam were led by aircraft parts, which reached $72 million, much higher than any other product. Other goods made up $35 million, and machinery accounted for $30.5 million. Fertiliser was $16.5 million, while cotton and cars were the lowest figures at $12 million and $6 million.
