The pie charts illustrate the value of exports between the US and Vietnam in several categories, measured in millions of dollars.
Overall, Vietnam mainly exports agricultural products to the US, while the US primarily exports industrial goods to Vietnam. In addition, the value of US exports is generally much higher than that of Vietnamese exports.
In terms of Vietnam’s exports to the US, coffee represents the largest proportion at $23 million. Fruit and vegetables account for the second biggest share, valued at $16 million. By contrast, seafood and rice contribute much smaller amounts, at $4.4 million and $4.3 million respectively. Garments and other products make up the smallest categories, with each standing at only $2 million.
Regarding US exports to Vietnam, aircraft parts dominate the chart with a value of $72 million, far exceeding the other categories. Other goods are the second largest group at $35 million, followed by machinery at $30.5 million. Fertiliser exports total $16.5 million, while cotton accounts for $12 million. Cars represent the smallest share of US exports, at $6 million.
