Overall, it is clear that the leaders of coffee production are mainly South Africa countries, while Europeans consume most of the produced coffee in comparison with Japanese who drink the least amount of coffee. Surprisingly, the delivery industry has the largest percentage of income.
Turning to the production of coffee, South Africa produces a considerable 44% of total coffee worldwide, whereas Indonesia, Japan and Vietnam’s coffee production present similar patterns with 22%, 18% and 16% overall.
Based on statistics, coffee consumption in America and Europe makes up more than three-fourths, with Europe at 41% and America consuming 39% of total coffee. Meanwhile, Japanese people consume the least proportion of coffee, accounting for just 8%, which is 4% lower than the consumption of the rest of the world.
Turning to profit distribution, the delivery sector makes up just over half of the income, while retailers’ profit accounts for just under a quarter of the total income at 24%. However, coffee producers acquire only 15% of the overall profit, which is 2% higher than that of exporters.
