Overall, the dependency on coal and gas was almost constant, as is evident from the illustrations. Significant changes had happened to petroleum and nuclear-based energy production, as the former had declined by a radical amount and the latter had increased almost twice.
In both years,coal and gas were the main sources of energy production for France, i.e., 29.80% and 30.93% from coal and 29.63% and 30.31% from gas in the years 1995 and 2005, respectively.
A drastic decline had happened in the case of petroleum, as previously in 1995, energy production from it was 29.27%, which turned out to be 19.55% in 2005.
On the contrary, production from other sources and nuclear energy had almost doubled within a decade
