Overall, the development of careers was the primary reason for the inbound and outbound migration.
Notably, a third of immigrates came to the UK for permanent jobs, followed by formal study with 26% of oversea students. Additionally, there was merely 12% of immigrates searching for jobs in the UK. In comparison, similar percentage of British went to other countries for definite jobs, while only 4% of the UK residents pursued oversea education. Remarkably, more than one fifth of Britain people sought for employment in other countries.
With regard to business relocation, the percentage of immigration and emigration was similar, 15% for the former and 13% for the latter. However, there were threefold unspecified reasons for emigration than immigration, standing at 18% and 6% respectively.
