The pie charts gives information about the migrations to and from the UK in 2007. Overall, the most significant reason for both immigration and emigration was related to the employment. The percentage of immigration for study was the highest one than that of emigration.
For immigration, 30% immigrants visited the UK for definite jobs, which was closely followed by the figure for formal study at 26%. By contrast, immigrants who looked for work were 12%, whereas the proportion of immigration to accompany or join others accounted for 15%. It is also notable that, the index of immigrants for other purposes and people who preferred not to mention the reason represented 11% and 6% , respectively.
When it comes to emigration purposes, employment made up just half of emigrating, with 30% definite jobs and 22% without one. The shares of emigration for study and accompany or join with someone were 4% and 13%.In terms of emigrants for other purposes it was 14%, whereas 18% of the emigrants kept their reasons undisclosed.
