In Mexico, individuals mostly preferred audio and video streaming platforms for hearing music, 35% for the former and 23% for the latter. In Germany and globally, 20% of the citizens chose audio streaming for hearing music, while only one in ten of the Japanese people used the same. The video streaming method for hearing music was used by a minority of residents in Japan, Germany, and globally when compared with other paid methods.
In contrast, free methods were used by a comparatively smaller proportion of people. In Mexico and globally, only 10% prefer downloads, and 8% of Germans used the same, whereas a fifth of Japanese citizens used downloads for listening to music. However, the highest percentage of people in Japan used CDs for listening to music, which accounted for almost a third. In Mexico, Germany, and globally, the least percentage of residents chose CDs for listening to music, which accounted for 12%, 10%, and 15%, respectively.
