The following pie chart illustrates the spanding habbits of UK-citizens from 1971 and 2001.

One of the highlights in this chart is drammatical reduction of spending on groceries. The number fell from 44% in 1971 to just 14% in 2001. However, it must be pointed out, that people started to purchase more cars in recent years – 43%, compared to just 22% in 1971.
