Overall, visitors mainly praised the people and scenery of the island, while the high cost of living was considered the most significant drawback. In contrast, food quality and cultural aspects were the least mentioned points in both categories.
Looking first at the disadvantages, almost half of the respondents (45%) identified the high cost of living as the main problem. Entertainment-related issues accounted for a further 30%, making it the second most common complaint. Weather conditions were also mentioned by one fifth of visitors (20%). By comparison, food quality was seen as a minor issue, representing only 5% of the total responses.
Turning to the advantages, the friendliness of the people was the most frequently cited benefit, at 40%. This was closely followed by the island’s scenery, which attracted 37% of positive responses. Good accommodation was mentioned by a relatively small proportion of visitors, at 11%, while culture was the least significant advantage, accounting for just 12%.
In summary, Fairmont Island is generally valued for its people and natural beauty, whereas high living costs remain its major weakness.
