The two diagrams illustrate the floorplan of a college cafe before and after a redesign.
In overview, not much construction has been done to the cafe. The most noticeable change has to be an outdoor extension to the cafe’s map.
Regarding the interior, the overall structural layout has remained untouched. Directly facing the entrance were once two staff dining rooms, however, they were separated into two different facilities, one for take away food and another became a coffee bar. In addition, the cafe has made a more ecofriendly change by replacing their regular bins for recycling ones. On the opposite side, a salad bar has been established for customers to enjoy.
Some aspects of the cafe were left the same, such as the washroom area and kitchen. Previously, there was a serving area for both food and drinks beside the kitchen. After the redesign, it was converted into a station for hot meals only. On the wall facing the kitchen, take away food and coffee bar, two doors were constructed on each side. Both lead to an open area filled with a number of tables. At the very end is a newly added outdoor barbecue station.
