The maps illustrate the changes that have taken place in a college cafe before and after the redesign.
Overall, it is clear that a number of major changes were made to the college cafeteria. These include the addition of an outdoor seating area, a barbecue place, a salad bar, and so on.
Looking at the maps in more detail, it can be seen that there was no barbecue facility in the cafe before the transformation. In the present day, a barbecue place has been added to the outside area. A seating area has been made beside the barbecue too. There are five sets of tables and chairs which have been decorated nicely. The staff dining room has been replaced by a coffee bar and a take away food counter. A salad bar has also been newly placed at the main hall and it is in the middle of the west side. The hot meal counter took the place of the serving counter.
The two layouts also show that there are two more tiny changes that were made at the cafe. which include adding two doors at the side where barbecue center and outdoor seating place were made, converting the normal bin to recycling bins. The kitchen, the tables, and the chairs remain in the same place.
