The plan illustrates the layout of a college café before and after its redesign.
Overall, the café has been enlarged through the addition of an outdoor barbecue area with seating. Inside the building, the kitchen, toilets and main seating area have remained in the same locations, while the former serving and dining areas have been converted into several separate facilities.
Before the renovation, the café mainly consisted of a large seating area with tables and chairs. In the upper left-hand corner there was a kitchen with an integrated serving area where the all food and drink provided. Along the northern wall were two staff dining rooms, each containing with two tables and six chairs inside. The toilets and a bin were located in the lower right-hand corner.
An outdoor barbecue has been added along the southern side, with several tables and access through two new doors. The original serving area now provides hot meals only, while the former staff dining rooms were converted into the take away food outlet and a coffee bar. In addition, a salad bar has been installed along the western wall and the bin has been replaced to the recycling bin.
