The maps provided offer insights into the transformation of the ground floor of a particular building from 1958 to present
It is clear that the alterations took place all over the place. However, the most remarkable feature is the functional change of this playground after the period surveyed.
As far as the year 1958 to 1984, the ground floor was utilized as an office. There was an entrance located at the bottom of the map, through which a corridor could be seen, dividing the floor into two equal parts. On the left side of the map, a toilet, a secretary’s office, an assistant’s office and a meeting room could be observed. On the opposite side, a reception arena, a manager office and a kitchen were reported to be respectively from the entrance.
Regarding the year 1985 to 2000, its intended use was changed from the office to an apartment. While the entrance remained intact, there was an emergence of the bathroom and shower at the expense of the old toilet and the secretary’s office. The meeting room and the assistant’s office were also flattened to make way for a spacious living room. The right side of the map witnessed the replacement of the reception arena and the manager office with two new bedrooms, however, the kitchen was remained unchanged.
About the current layout, the ground floor has transformed into a flower shop. The entrance stayed at the same position but the bathroom and shower on the left side has been converted into a play area. Meanwhile, the living room has been replaced by two new sectors, one of which has become a small gift cards area at the top left corner. The remaining spaces in the left side and the bedroom which is adjacent to the entry have made use of the flowering display domain. The other bedroom became an office and the kitchen at the top right corner still remained unchanged.
