The plans illustrate the alterations of the ground floor of a particular building over three distinct periods: 1958-1984, 1985-2000 and 2001 to present. Overall, the purpose of this building underwent significant transformations. It started as an office, then became an apartment and finally a flower shop. Notably, the kitchen and the entrance remain unchanged.
In the first period, the building served as an office, with a meeting room and kitchen occupied the upper section. The left side housed the assistant’s and secretary’s offices, while a larger manager’s office was situated on the right. At the bottom, there was a toilet on the left and a reception area adjacent to the entrance. When the building was converted into an apartment, the meeting room, assistant’s office and secretary’s office were transformed into a big living room while the kitchen remained intact. Meanwhile the manager’s office and reception area gave way to Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2 respectively. The remaining bathroom and shower are situated on the bottom left corner adjacent to the main entrance.
For the last period, the building once again shifted the purpose into a flower shop. From the top left corner, there was a gift card stand replacing the living room, the kitchen remains consistent. Remarkably, half of the living room and bedroom 2 were converted into two flower display areas staggering each other. Furthermore, bedroom 1 is being replaced by an office. Finally, the bathroom and shower were taken over by a play area.
