The two maps illustrate the development of Beechwood Farm over a 76-year period, spanning from 1950 to 2026, and show modernisation to the facilities, trajectories and accommodation.
In terms of transformation to the area, the sheep herding area, originally located at the north of the Farm, was demolished and substituted by parking lots at two corners and a camping field. Solar panels are also set up to grant cleaner energy for the farm. Tracks, which were initially full of rocks, are covered by bitumen and have become more flattened.
With respect to accommodation, the barn gave way to holiday cottages to shelter more tourists and was relocated in the proximity of the chicken area. A farm shop was also opened to sell farm products to increase the income of the farm.
Overall, the area has witnessed dramatic changes with the addition of cottages, a kiosk, a camping site, a parking area and renewable energy facilities. The farm will then have the capacity to accommodate and serve more tourists.
