The diagram illustrate the difference between the present and proposed Southwest Airport. Gates, Arrivals, and walkways will have the most changes, whereas the security passport control and Customs parts will see no development.
The major redevelopments will happen in the terminal entrances. New Sky Trains will be introduced replacing the walkways, along with 10 more gates which will make the numbers of gets from 8 to 18 in a ‘Y’ shape. The Arrivals will have a cafe, an ATM, and a car rental service which are not available at this moment. The arrival and departure gates will be reformed as well. A bag drop facility will be inserted in the ‘Departures’ section and the cafe and Check-in systems will be reclocated within it.
The least reinnovated areas will be the security passport control and custom sections. Though shops will be installed in between security and the newly added gates, this addition is not that significant.
In conclusion, the Southwest Airport will go through a noticeable development by the given plan. Some sections will be rejuvenated considerably, some will be changed slightly, and some will remain the same.
