The shown table and bar charts give information about the doctors in Australia from 1986 to 2006.
Overall,it is conspicuous that the proportion of medical practitioners rose year by year. Additionally,most of them were male doctors who decreased negligibly as years went by,whereas the percentage of doctors who born in Australia was higher than those from other overseas.
Regarding the table chart,in 1966 the number of doctors accounted for 23,720 , however,after a decade it increased by about six hundred. In 2006, it experienced drastic surge to 35,450 doctors.
Turning to the bar charts,the male doctors were more common throughout the timeframe compared to the female. In the initial year, there was a peak of over 70% in man’s ratio ,while the gradual decreasing patterns was observed in 1996 and 2006 , with respective figures of less than 70% and 60%. Meanwhile, the female genders showed the reverse pattern growing marginally year by year, with over 20% in 1986 and 40% at the end of the period.
Additionally, the approximate trends of 60-50% doctors came from Australia in three given periods(1986, 1996 and 2006). While percentage of who originated from foreign countries showed roughly 40% in 1986 and 1996 ,whilst in 2006 both local and non local doctor’s percentages showed the same rates of 50% .
