Task 1:
The table illustrates the number of US searches in two years, 2004 and 2010, while the line graph compares the five different search engines in the same period
It is clear that the total of searches increased significantly between two years. In the different search engines, the Google showed the upward trend and maintained the position while the other engines showed the downward trend
In Novemver 2004, the number of searches was 4,5 billion. This figures was climbed up about 4 times and reached 16 billion in September 2010. And looking at the line grap, the Google was the highest online searches with approximately 35% of the searches, nearly followed by Yahoo, with more than 30 percents. The Microsoft had 15 percents and the AOL and Ask Jeeves had 5% and 10%
Afterthat , the number of the Google searches grew significantly and reached the peak at 65 pecents in September 2010. The Google dominated the highest of the porpotion of the internet searches in the period. While the Yahoo’s figure dropped more than 10 percents from around 33% to 20% and the AOL and Ask Jeeves had the slow dropping about 4 percents. Last, the Microsoft reached the 10 percents in May 2009 before show the increasing about 5 percents in September 2010
