Similarly, Sweden witnessed a dramatic rise from 46% in 1975 to 70.1% by the end of the period, making it the country with the highest tax revenue.
Regarding Japan, the percentage of tax collected was 15% in 1975 and increased marginally to 16% in 1985. The figure then climbed considerably to 23% in 1995 before reaching 36.1% in 2005. Korea also experienced consistent growth throughout the period, whereas Turkey’s figures fluctuated despite finishing at 27.4% in 2005.
