The given table demonstrates the data about the amounts of spending for different categories in five different countries in 2002.
Looking from an overall perspective, it can be clearly seen that people mostly spent money on food, drinks and tobacco, while leisure and education was the lowest among three categories in all countries. In Turkey overall spending was higher compared to other countries.
Moving to a more detailed analysis, food, drinks and tobacco are mostly purchased in Turkey by the almost one third of all spendings. Italians and Swedes didn’t need to spend as much money on groceries as Turks. So, Italy and Sweden had the lowest expenditure on food by the percentage of 16.36 and 15.77 respectively , which are the approximately half of the Turkey’s spending on food which is 32.14 per cent.
In terms of other categories, The lowest expenditure was on leisure and education in Spain by the proportion of 1,98 percentage. The highest portion for this category was in in Turkey by the number of 4,35 which is two times less than the highest spending on clothes and footwear which were at 9 per cent in Italy.
