Overall, the all catergories of health spending in France was highest, meanwhile, Japan recorded the smallest proportion of its GSP on health. Additionally, in all five countries, public spending on health considerably outweighed private platform
Regarding the higher-spending nations, in the total, France ranked first at 11.4%, followed closely Germany and USA, at 9.3% and 8.6% respectively. In term of public spending, a figure of 8.6% was recorded for France’s health spending, closely by the figure for Germany’s proportion, at 7% and was moderately lower by USA, at 6%. A similar pattern was observed by private spending in France, USA and Germany, at 2.8%, 2.6% and 2.3% respectively.
As the remaining two countries, in the total, Italy took first place, at 7.7%, whereas the figure for Japan’s percentage was moderately, at 7.2%. Public spending followed a similar trend in both countries, at 5.8% in Japan and 5.3% in Italy, while private spending accounted for the lowest in these two countries, at 2.4% in Italy and 1.4% in Japan, the smallest figure for private platform among all five countries.
