The table illustrates the alteration in the cost of a cup of coffee in six different Australian cities between 2010 and 2014.
It is obvious that the price of a cup of coffee witnessed an upward trend in each city except Brisbane with no change. Additionally, the coffee prices in Sydney escalated most notably during the survey.
In 2010, people in Sydney had to pay $2.8 for a coffee cup, which was the most expensive among six cities. Four years later, it has climbed to $3.17 for a coffee drink. Melbourne’s coffee cost was the second-highest with a price of $2.4 which then had surged to $2.9 by 2014. The price of this beverage in Brisbane remained unchanged during four years.
Turning to Canberra, Adelaide and Perth where the cost of a coffee cup was the lowest of the table. Canberra drinkers could enjoy coffee with only $1.6 for a mug in 2010, and then increasing by more than 6% in 2014. At the beginning of the period, the coffee cost in Adelaide and Perth were at $1.87 and $2.1 respectively, both having witnessed a moderate rise by 2014, of about 7%.
