The table below illustrates the value of a cup of coffee, in dollars, in six cities from 2010 to 2014.
Overall, almost all metropolises’ prices of a coffee cup increased over the period, except for Brisbane, which was unchanged. The price of a cup of coffee in Canberra was the highest value, while that was the lowest in Sydney.
Looking at two cities that had the highest prices, the cost of a coffee cup in Sydney experienced a significant rise, which accounted for 13.2% in change; similarly, Melbourne’s ones from 2.4 to 2.9 dollars. Although the charge in Melbourne was considerably higher than that in Sydney, which were over one-fifth and 13.2% respectively, the cost of coffee in Melbourne in 2014 was equal to that in Sydney in the starting point.
Meanwhile, the charge of three lowest urban areas was similar. There was a slight growth in the charge of prices’ a coffee cup in Canberra, Adelaide and Perth, which was 6.25%, 6.95% and 7.1% correspondingly. It can be witnessed that the charge of three lower urban areas was one-twice as few as that in Sydney.
Lastly, Brisbane, which remained stable in the price of a cup of coffee, had the third ranking in the coffee cup’s cost. However, over the period, Perth’s prices had the same valuations with Brisbane’s ones.
