The table illustrates the fishing industries on the marine divided into big scale-industrial ships and small scale-fishing boats.
Overall, the number of employees of small scale has remarkable figures. However, their annual salaries and fuel/oil consumption are many times lower than large scale.
According to the table, while small scale-fishing boats accounted for huge employees with 120.000.000, the number of staff involved in big scale-industrial ships is 500.000. Nevertheless, the annual catch of industrial ships in food and industrial process is higher than fishing boats with 29 million tonnes and 22 million tonnes respectively. Fishing boats merely made up 20 million tonnes of food and none in the industrial process.
Regarding the annual cost per capita, each employee in industrial ships receives 25.000-350.000 pounds in their salary which is many times higher than fishing boats who just earn 200-3.000 pounds. However, a similar trend can be seen in the annual fuel/oil consumption. While each vessel in industrial ships consumes 65.000 gallons, fishing boats only account for 8.500 gallons.
