It is clear that the highest number of people travelled by car of transportation from 1985 to 2000.By contrast, the number of people who travelled by Taxi and bicycle was lowest over a period of 15 years.
In 1985,people travelling by car were 3199 miles, and this figure gradually increased to 4806 miles in 2000. These figures also rose for miles travelled by train, long distance bus,taxi and other models in England over the same period. Taxi saw a rise of 29 miles in people travelling from 13 miles in 1985 to 43 miles in 2000.
From 1985 to 2000, the remaining modes of people traveling in England were walking, cycling and local buses.There was a drop in the number of people who travelled by walking and bicycle from 255 and 51 miles to 237 and 41 miles respectively. Local bus, on the other hand, was the only transport of people who saw a fall of nearly 155 miles in people travelling over the 15-year period.
