The given table shows the information about the tourist arrivals to top eight countries in 2009 and 2010 and the change. Figures are in millions and change is in percentage. Overall, the number of arriving tourists increased in all countries except for the France and Hong Kong. Interestingly, France stayed as a leader, even though there was no change on the figure of arriving induviduals.
In 2008 the number of visitors per year to Germany was 11 million. In the following year, figures rocketed by 109%, reaching 23 million annual tourist arrivals in 2010. The figure for China in the beginning was 22 million and the progress was around two times less than the Germany’s. Number of international tourist arrivals was 33 million in 2009 in Turkey. In the following year, the figures grew up to 45 million with 33% change.
As for the countries with slight change, in Italy in 2009 there were 44 million international visitors and it witnessed a progress of 2.3%. UK and Spain started with 55 million visitors and in 2010 the figures were 57% and 56%, respectively. The US accepted 66 million visitors in 2009 and their progress was 1.5%, which resulted in 67 million international visitors in 2010.
In France the number of international visitors was 76 million in 2009 and it kept unchanged. When it comes to Hong Kong, in 2009 there were 10 million visitors and the change was negative 11%, which ended up with 9 million international visitors in 2010.
