The table give information about the forest covers in several parts of the world in 1990. 2000, and 2005 (counted in millions of hectares).
Overall, the forest area in Africa and South America were decline significantly, while those in Europe and Asia experienced incline substantially.
Initially, forest covers in Africa and South America fell drastically, from 749 in Africa and 946 for the later to 709 and 904, respectively. In five following years, those condition continousely occured, with 691 and 882, respectively. The same trend experienced in North America and Oceania which were decreased quite moderately from 708 and 199, each, in 1990, to 705 and 197 after fiveteen years.
In contrast, forest covers in Europe and Asia rose quite substanstially in fiiveteen years, from 989 and 576, each, to 1001 and 584, respectively, nothwithstanding it occured decreased to 570 in 2000 for Asia’s forest land.
