The table compares department stores and online stores in Australia in 2011.
As can be seen, there are four different aspects in the table, including the number of businesses, profit, sales revenue, and general growth. Online stores in all categories were higher than those for department stores.
To begin with, the number of businesses online stores is fivefold the number of department shops, at 368 and 67, respectively. In terms of profit (AUD), both stores have a minimal difference in the period, with online stores edging out by a meager margin of 56 million AUD more.
Considering the number of sales revenue (AUD), online stores still have a large proportion compared to department shops, the former earned 12700 AUD while the latter yielded 13400 AUD. Last, the growth of department stores was 0.4 percent. On the other side, online stores were 0.6 percent. The gap between these is not significant.
