Overall, it is clear that females had the highest percentage in humanities department while non-English speaking students and those born outside Australia the IT department.
Looking at the table in more detail, females made up the highest proportion in humanities, education and physics, at 72%, 68%, and 56%, respectively. In contrast, males were the major contributors to the IT, engeneering departments, at 15% and 17%. Science was the most gender-balanced department, with females constituting 52% of the total.
As for the remaining students who are non-native English speakers and those born outside Australia dominated the IT department (49%), that highlights its significance among other fields. This was followed by science and engeneering, comprimising 45% and 42% of students whose language was not English. Meanwhile, humanities and education departments had the lowest figures, accounting for 12% and 16%. Similarly, the physics (56%), science(31%), and engeneering (48%) had the highest percentages of students born outside Australia while the lowest figures were found in humanities (20%) and education (23%).
