The table shows the information about the number of people who went abroad from Australia to seven various countries namely, New Zealand, the UK, the USA, Indonesia, Fiji, Japan and China from 1999 to 2009.
Overall, it is clear that all destinations had upward trend, albeit at varying degrees. Notably, China experienced considerable growth in a decade, while the reverse true for the UK and the US
Looking at the table in more detail, New Zealand held the leading position during the whole timespan as opposed to the others, peaking at 1064000 with 113% growth. In terms of Indonesia and Fiji, they started at approximately the same number of visitors (150000 and 120000 respectively). There was a significant rise to 34000 in the former, accounting for a 127% growth rate. A similar yet less significant increase was observed in the figure for the latter, with 114% rise rate.
The number of people who chose China was 86.00 in the initial year – a figure that then had grew to 300.000 by the end, becoming responsible for the highest rate of growth.Focusing on the figures which had growth rate under 100, the UK hosted 640.000 in the final year. Following the far way behind, the US had the lowest rate over the chart, despite welcoming 100.000 tourists in a decade
