Looking closely at the table chart, Delta Air Lines nearly doubled its passenger traffic from 500,700 passengers in 1995 to 1,064,000 in 2005, a 113% growth rate, remaining the largest carrier airline. Southwest Airlines rose 400,000 in 1995 to 640,000 in 2005 with 60% growth rate. United Airlines saw the lowest growth rate with 33%, increasing 300,000 to 400,000 between 1995 to 2005.
American airlines rose sharply more than doubled 150,000 to 340,000. Alaska airlines also experienced similar trend, with 120,000 in 1995 to 257,000 in 2005. Hawaiian airlines was growing by 150% to reach 250,000 passengers. The most striking change was shown with JetBlue, which recorded the highest climb with 249%, starting at the least popular in 1995 to overtaking both Alaska and Hawaiian in 2005.
