The table illustrates the percentage of expenditure of university students in five different categories – accommodation, food, books, leisure and others – by three nations in 2017.
Overall, it is clear that spending on accommodaton was relatively higher in all three nations than other expeditures. Australian students showed the highest interested on food and book, while the UK dominated in accomodation. However, students form the USA accounted modarate interest on every modes of sepnding.
In 2017, the proportion of investment in accommodation by the UK students were around half the total expenditure, while figure for the USA stood at 35% which was one thard of the total budeget, followed by Australia at 35%. Althogh the percentage of spending on books was comparatively high at 21% than the UK and the USA, 3% and 9% respectively.
Students form the UK and the USA, in contrast, shared kind of silimar spending on their leisure at 22% and and 23% respectively, while this proprotion of spending by Australian studens were half of ther thwo nations at 12%. All three nations had less interest on other items.
