Overall, while the number of visitors rose in The UK and France, that of in Canada comprised the reverse. Although the visiting rate in France grew noticeably, the UK remained its leading position throughout the period. Moreover, holiday and business were the main motivations for paying a visit in France.
Focusing first on the table, The UK was visited by 12 million travelers, considerably more than Canada, 18 million, and France a mere 5 million in 2010. By 2023, the UK had increased significantly to 18 million. Canada experienced a slight fall to 8 million, whereas the number of visitors in France climbed to 14 million.
Turning to the pir chart, holiday was the most common reason for travelling, standing at a high of 46%. Following closely behind was business, whose share stood at 22%. While the percentage of visiting family represented 19%, those of study and unknown purposes comprised a mere 8% and 5% respectively.
