The given table shows the comparison of public transport usage in four states while the bar chart illustrates the result of the survey of Canadian citizens about reasons to travel by car.
Overall, in all countries, cars are the most popularized type of transportation. It can also be seen that residents of Canada most of the time do not have alternatives to cars.
Firstly, cars have the greatest request among other types of transportation in every country. Next by demand is public transport; however, in Canada, only 3% of the population uses public transport. Netherlands people, in fact, really enjoy travelling by bicycle, whereas only a few per cent use bicycles in the remaining countries. Residents of Belgium and Germany have a similar percentage of people travelling on foot, which is 11%, and the Netherlands with Canada have 18% and 5% respectively. Other types of transport are uncommon.
Turning to the survey’s result, there are no alternatives available for Canadians most of the time, and this is the main reason for car popularity. Afterwards, 30% of the answers were referring to job requirements. 20% of the respondents answered that a car is the most convenient type of transport for them. Moreover, just above 20% prefer cars due to their speed. The least popular response was linked with nightshift at work, around 8%
