The table above illustrates information on the various aspects of families living in poverty in Australia in the year 1999. Overall, it is evident that 11 percent of people were facing issues with poverty during that period
Furthermore, it is clear from the information that out of 6 categories of family types the highest number of people living in poverty were sole parents and single parent with no children, with 21 percent and 19 percent respectively. At the same time, the lowest number of people living in poverty were aged couple, at only 4 percent
Turning to other groups, like only 4 percent of single aged household suffer from poverty, though 7 percent of couple with no children experience poverty. Similarly, 12 percent of couple with children undergo poverty.
Taking all the groups together, it can be seen from that sole parents were the ones suffering the most while aged couples were in comparatively stable condition. Finally, each household had its own problems and significant people were living in poverty
