The table illustrates the survey of a 20-year study regarding the reasons of adults in the UK attend arts sessions.
Overall, over the last 30 years the most common reason for attending art events was desire to see specific artist, whereas the proportion of adults who attend art sessions for work or business was the least favored form.
The most popular reason for adults was desire to see specific performance throughout the period and it witnessed slight fluctuations, with 58% 20 years ago, 55% 10years ago and 56% now. While the percentage of adults who went for work and business made up the least proportion over the period (6%, 10% and 11% in present day), making it the least common reason.
The proportion of people who went in order to accompanying children constantly rose and made up 9% 20 years ago, 15% 10years ago and 24% today. In the meantime, the reasons for special occasions and celebration experienced a moderate decrease over the last 30 years and fall from 27% to 20%, reaching to almost 9% in present day.
