In 2005, the percentage of market share owned by nokia was highest at 32.5%, while the figures for motorila 17.7% and Samsung(12.7%) were significantly lower.In contracst, 6.7% of the total percentage was recorded in LG, which was slightly higher than the figure for Sony ericsson(6.3%).Meanwhile the rate of market share which benq owned was lowest, accounting for 4.9%, compared to 19.2% recorded in other companies in the same fild
Furthermore, in 2006, Nokia was the largest producer of smartphones manufacturing 35% of the market. The figures for Motorola and Sony Ericsson experienced an increase to 21.1% and 7.4% respectively. In comparison, the percentage of manufacturing of Samsung and LG declined, 11.8% for Samsung and 6.3% for LG. Other unknown manufacturers made up 16.2% of the market, whileBenQ Mobile produced a small minority, only 2.4%.
