Overall, Nokia had the largest market share in both years. Meanwhile, there was a slight decrease in the global market share among companies, with the exception of Nokia, Motorola, and Sony Ericsson.
Nokia was the leader in the global market share in 2005 and 2006. Its market share rose from 32.5% in 2005 to 35% in 2006. This was followed by Motorola, witnessing a significant growth from 17.7% to 21.1% at the same time. Meanwhile, Sony Ericsson had a moderate figure, starting at 6.3% in 2005 and finishing 7.4% by the end of the period.
Among the remaining companies, BenQ Mobile had the modest market shares, with 4.9% in 2005 and 2.4% in 2006. Although Samsung and L.G sales were larger than BenQ Mobile’s, they witnessed a small decline. The maker share in Samsung dipped from 12.7% in the first year to 11.8% in the second year. Likewise, L.G sales accounted for 6.7% and 6.3%, in the two years, respectively. The sales of the other companies was higher than that of Motorola, at 19.2% in 2005, but it rapidly decreased to 16.2% in 2005.
