Overall, the tables display an increase of Fairtrade coffee and banana sales throughout the period, except for bananas in Sweden. Despite this, both bananas and coffee in the UK had the most significant number of growth and sales.
To begin, in 1999, 1.5 million euros were spent by locals in UK for coffee products before it escalated to 20 million euros in 2004. However, it was sold twice in Switzerland and increased to aproximately 6 million euros after 5 years. It was slightly lower in Denmark and Belgium, which rose to 2 and 1.7 million euros in 2004, respectively. These coffee products were sold the least in Sweden, which was 0,8 million euros in 1999 and reached to only 1 million euros in 2004.
Furthermore, UK had the highest spending level of banana products, it was 15 million euros and had an increase to 47 million euros in 2004. Moreover, it was 1 million euros in Switzerland and it grew to 5.5 million euros after 5 years. In Denmark and Belgium, it gradually grew, but Sweden experienced a slight decrease from 2 million euros to 0.9 million euros in 2004.
