Overall, it is clear that consumption of potatoes in Europe made up the highest, whereas Africa was the lowest throughout. One the other hand, production of potatoes in Asia/ Oceania was the most popular in all regions, while South and Central America accounted for the smallest figure.
Looking first at the data for consumption of potatoes, Europe reached a peak of 96.1kg per person. Next, North America was the lower than Europe, at 57.9kg. The figures for Asia/ Oceania, South and Central America and Africa stood at 25.8kg, 23.6kg and 14.1kg, respectively.
Similar changes can be observed in the figure for production of potatoes, Asia/ Oceania was the most common figure, at 131.2 million, followed by Europe and North America accounted for 126.3 million and 24.7 million, respectively. Africa and South and Central America were lower than, at 16.4 million and 15.6 million, respectively.
