The two tables show sales information for Fairtrade pineapples and tea in five different European countries between 2010 and 2015.
In the first table, low-level tea sales are rising in all five nations, but to wildly differing degrees. Sales climbed by the same meager amount in two locations: 1.8 to 2 million in Norway and 2.8 to 3 million euros in Germany. From 2 to 2.7 million euros, the increase was a little bigger in the Netherlands. Sales in Austria, meanwhile, increased from 4 to 8 million euros. Last but not least, there was a significant increase in France, from 2.5 to 21 million euros.
In the second table, Austria stands out as the country that purchases the most Fairtrade pineapples compared to the other four. Over these five years, Austria’s revenues increased from 16 to 48 million euros, while France and the Netherlands only had increases of 2 and 6, respectively, and 1.6 and 5, respectively. A contrasting pattern emerged in Norway and Germany, with declines in pineapple sales of 2.8 to 2 and 3 to 1.9 million euros, respectively.
In contrast to the two tables, it is evident that in 2010, Fairtrade tea sales in these five countries ranged from 1.8 to 4 million euros, and pineapple sales were similarly concentrated between 1.6 and 3 million euros, with Austria being the outlier at a staggering 16 million euros. Except for Norway and Germany, where pineapple sales decreased, both products’ sales figures had increased globally by 2015.
