The pie charts details the expenses of a school in the United Kingdom over a twenty-year period of 1981, 1991, and 2001.
On the whole, teachers’ salaries accounted over half of the school’s entire spending, while the least being insurance. The trend of other employee salaries’ steadily drops over the years where it no longer account for the school’s second biggest spending over that of teachers’ in 2001.
Between the three year period, teachers’ salaries shows a relatively steady growth between 40-50% of all spending. On the other hand, furniture and equipment showed a massive drop of 1981’s cost to just 5% in 1991. However, the figure rose all the way to 23% in 2001, even more than its original allocation of 15%.
Resource and books show an opposite trend where the expenditure would increase by 5% between 1981 and 1991 but the school decided to cut back on this aspect to slightly below 10% in 2001. Lastly, Insurance remains the smallest expense allocated by the institution though showing a relative improvement in 2001.
