The pie charts compare the changes in annual expenditure by a school in the UK in three different years.
As is observed, teachers’ salaries account for the lion’s share in all three years, while insurance occupy the smallest share during the period.
In 1981, around 40% of school’s budget was spent on teachers’ wage. This figure climbed considerably at 50% in 1991 before it fell to 45% in 2001. Expenditure on other worker’s salaries experienced a gradually decrease over 20-year period, from 28% in 1991 to only 15% in 2001.
Turning to remaining sections, the smallest change occured in the percentage of insurance, beginning at a mere 2% and increasing fourfold to 8% in 2001. Resources and furniture displayed similar trajectories in 1981 (15%). The figure for resources rose to 20% before dwindling to 9% in 2001. By contrast, the proportion of budget spent on furniture and equipment exhibited a 10 percent decline until 1991 and made up almost a quarter in 2001.
