The information about the percentage of annual expenditure that local authorities in Someland spent on six sectors in 1980, 1990, and 2000 is shown by the pie charts.
Overall, it can be seen that the percentage of expenditure in the higher education sector was larger than that in all sectors. By contrast, in almost all sectors, the figure for spending money on other sector is the smallest. In addition, four of the six sectors experienced an upward trend, while the rest witnessed a decline.
To begin with, in 1980, the expenditure proportion of the higher education sector was the highest (at 35%). Then, it is followed by the K-12 education sector, with 25% expenditure. The figures for transport and health and human resources were all in 10’s%, with 16% and 14% severally. The two last sectors, Other sector and Environmental Services sector, were only under 10%, listed at 6% and 4% respectively.
Moving to the trend, we can see that the expenditure proportion of the transportation sector experienced an increase, with 6% growth, from 16% to 22%. Afterward, the figures for Higher Education and Environmental Services sectors showed an increase, with the same growth (5%), from 35% to 40% and 4% to 9% successively. By contrast, the percentages of K-12 Education, Other, and Health and Human Resources inclined with 7%, 5%, and 4% reduction consecutively.
