The maps illustrate the changes in an Irish village between 2000 and nowadays.
Overall, the village experienced a dramatic transformation from a rural to an urban area across the period. The most noticeable changes were the increasing number of housing estates, whilst the dock was removed by local authority.
To begin, 2000 saw 4 houses in the middle of the village, and this grew threefold to 13 homes on the both sides of the north roadway, respectively. The farmland was situated in the north-west of the land, and they transformed it into a park with various types of trees. 4 stores were near the west road and it remained untouched across the period, while opposite side of the road witnessed 2 markets in 2020 and this were converted into restaurants, and their number doubled.
Turning to the edge of the river, the dock and boats in the south part were removed. The hotel, situated on the corner of two main roads, remained unchanged throughout the period. Additionally, a new parking structure was built on the right side from the hotel.
