The maps depict the transformations of the Dalton town from 1815 to 2015. Overall, the town has changed from rural areas to a new residential-friendly one. Infrastructures were improved and forests were totally replaced to enhance the quality of life.
Regarding the layout of the Dalton town in 1815, it was still pristine and natural. Along the river’s branch running across the town was the Dalton Forest, which occupied the majority of total area. Furthermore, to the Northwest side, it was scarely populated with a farm, and the other side was a small forest. The Bridleway was located between the Hall Farm and the Dalton riverbank.
Concerning the Dalton town in 2015, the urbanization had carried out to improve infrastructures and life demands. The big forest was chopped down to make way for industrial zone and residential area, which had the hospital nearby. A river and a banch was still remained, but it was built a new bridge that situated in the ford. Additionall, to the right side of the town, the school was built up with numerous houses surrounded. The hotel was constructed in the Western area of the town. Moreover, the airport was located near the riverbank.
