The two maps depict how the Town of Westley changed in terms of structure from 1815 to present. Overall, new railway station has been built, while the fields and forests are removed for commercial and residantial purposes.
In 1815, Lord Westley’s House stationed in the northwest, which was turn into two buildings; the red lion and lenton hotel. Below this house there was Lenton Woods in the past which was cut down to build Housing Estate. The large number of houses in the centre were replaced with Business and residential area and below shopping area constructed, while town hall and market remained the same throughout the time period.
The Coach Inn and church had demolished , and sports centre, museum and shopping centre was build in their place. Westley now has railway and its main station for train transportation, that is located where there were fields. The roadway in the south was extended slightly to accommodate new buildings.
