In general, the town saw quite a bit of growth and modernization over those 22 years. Open, green spaces and leisure areas gradually gave way to more housing, businesses, and tech facilities.Back in 1990, the southwest part of Frenton was mostly covered by trees. At the center, there was a theatre, a cozy café, and a park where people could relax. Meanwhile, houses and a handful of shops stretched along the east side. By 2012, though, the town had taken on a very different look. The wooded area had been cleared to make space for a technopark, and the old theatre had been converted into a cinema. The café and park were replaced by a hotel and a golf course, which clearly shows that the town was trying to draw in more tourists.The row of houses and shops on the east side didn’t stay the same either. They were replaced by blocks of flats, probably to accommodate a growing population. A supermarket also opened up in the southeast, and a new restaurant appeared next to the school. Interestingly, the hospital, library, and school didn’t move at all—they stayed right where they’d always been.
All in all, Frenton shifted from being a town with lots of trees and individual homes to a much busier place full of apartment buildings and modern developments.
