The two maps show the transformations of the Happy Valley Shopping Center between 1982 and 2012. Overall, the area went from a relatively underdeveloped shopping center to a modernized one within the given time frame. Of particular note is that the lake was replaced by furniture retail and the road was removed between 1982 and 2012.
In 1982, there were many trees, which were located at the top of the map. There was a road, which ran from the west side adjacent to the shopping center. There was an entrance to enter all buildings. There were many buildings in the middle of the Happy Valley Shopping Center. In the northwest, coffee shops were located. A food store is situated at the top of the entertainment area, which was situated in the middle of the buildings. A sports store, an electronics store, and a furniture store were placed together in the east. In the southwest toilets were located.
By 2012, the area has undergone major changes, trees has increased. The parking lot came at the cost of the road. Moreover, the lake was demolished and in these area furniture retail store was built . The food store was transferred to the southeast. The sports and electronics store was relocated from the northeast to the north. The lobby area was replaced with a big entrance, and the toilets and elevator were maintained in the southwest. In contrast, the former sports store, electronics store, and furniture stores turned into themed restaurants.
