The two maps illustrate the changes in Tilden Airport and in its surrounding area in three decades, between 1985 and 2015.
Overall, significant changes were made, replacing Johnson’s farm with three different buildings and replacing the factories with the airoport’s support services.
In 1985, there were two factories placed to the next of each other, with the Johnson’s Farm at the top of the map. The airport’s support services building, which was located between the car park and the factory, was just a small building.
However, after the airport was redeveloped, significant changes have taken place. One of the primary change was replacing the farm with three separate buildings: with the runway two, the business park, and the housing estate. Another essential change was replacing two factories with the hotel and conference centre and with the airport support services building. Additionally, instead of airport’s support services, there was the bus and light rail station which was located right next to the car park.
